About Climate Action Niagara
Climate Action Niagara (CAN) is a non-profit environmental organization that provides education and opportunities for actions on issues relating to climate change for health and resilience in Niagara.

CAN Projects and Initiatives:
- Anti-Idling Car By-Law and Campaign 2007/08
- Presentation to Council for Climate Change Implications for Municipalities and Action Items 2007/2008
- Urban Forestry & Naturalization Projects including School Scapes, and Circle Greening 2007-present
- Eco Educational Workshops for students including ACER Planting for Change and Measuring for Change
- Local Food Harvest Celebration, ongoing
- Eco Fest Niagara, Niagara's greenest trade show! , annual event
- Terry Fox Trail Clean ups, 2007-2009
- Project Porchlight 2008
- Summer Social Benefit Concerts, annual
- Earth Day, Week, Hour, and 350 events
- Niagara Community Gardens Network, facilitating community gardens, gardening workshops, canning workshops in multiple cities & towns
- Greener Tomorrow Conference in partnership with City of St Catharines
- Pesticide Education -presentations to council and community groups, assisted St Catharines with educational campaign
- Sustainability Series - Panel Discussions, Films, Tours and Events covering Food Security, Transition Towns, Renewable Energies, Permaculture, Natural Heritage, Economics of Sustainability, Urban Forestry and Waste Issues, 2006-present
- Memorial Trees Niagara
- Hosted 2010 Ontario Urban Forestry Council Conference in Niagara
- Hosted 2011 Ontario Sustainable Energy Association 'Community Power Workshop'
- Regional Outreach, Newsletters and Community presentations, ongoing
- Provide support for other regional and local initiatives including ReLeaf Niagara, Niagara CarShare, Seedy Saturday, green efforts of organizations, businesses and municipalities
- Participate provincially and federally with related Eco Orgs, ongoing
