Climate Action Niagara is continuing to work with neighbourhoods to develop community gardens, to lessen the impact of imported foods (both carbon and pesticides) and to ensure that the next generation is well grounded in food production on a personal scale.

   FOOD SECURITY – FARMLAND PROTECTION and THE GREENBELT

Featuring panel speakers from Greenbelt Alliance and Preservation of Agricultural Lands.

Discussion Questions included:

Niagara’s Farmland:  How do we protect it?  What does the Greenbelt achieve?  What is the soil capacity?  How much land is needed? 

Which land should be protected?  How can we improve linkages?
